In Mainland China, the graduation certificate and degree certificate are normally issued as separate documents. What Do the Official Sources Say?
- Department of Home Affairs: its skilled-visa submission guidance requires English translations of non-English documents and the original-language documents. For translations completed in Australia, include the translator’s NAATI practitioner number. Follow the checklist for your particular visa; this is not a universal rule for every university or assessing body.
- VETASSESS: its Chinese Qualifications Verification page distinguishes the Degree Certificate, Certificate of Graduation and academic transcript, then gives requirements for the relevant qualification level and pathway.
- Ahpra: non-English qualification documents must be accompanied by English translations. If translated in Australia, the translator must be NAATI accredited. Ahpra does not accept extract translations of degrees, diplomas, certificates or transcripts.
